Pretty awesome day. Took a drive out on Highway 94, which is absolutely GORGEOUS by the way. Missouri is so pretty and taking long drives is one of my favorite ways to spend a pretty day. On the ride to the winery, we saw a sign advertising the house of Daniel Boone. I did NOT recall that Daniel Boone had ever lived in Missouri, but it was right there! We decided to go after we ate/drank. Ash and I went to a great winery with a beautiful scenic overview of hills and bluffs and woods and farmland and all that good stuff and sat out in the sun sharing a bottle of blackberry wine and eating foodstuffs. The wine was sweet and tasty and I probably had more than I should have, so that by time we got to Daniel Boone's house I was definitely more tipsy than one ought to be at a historical landmark. XD The house tour was nice, if over-long, and we didn't get to see the rest of the village/historical houses because it was a whole separate tour, but whatever.

Then on the drive back to St. Louis, Ash made an amazing discovery. She had read about this in her Weird Missouri book. In Weldon Springs, there is a waste disposal cell. Right around WWII, the surrounding areas where evacuated so that a factory for TNT and DNT could be built there. Later the giant disposal cell was built, and I believe it has uranium in it? I don't remember. XD But you can walk all the way up to the top and see for MIIIIILES, and it's kind of fun and scary at the same time. I'm not glowing green yet, so I think I'm ok. http://www.ruralmissouri.org/04pages/04SeptWeldon.html

Tonight was cosmopolitans and order-in pizza with John and Jenny, along with watching Mr. Brooks and Hunter, Hunter. Sweet!!!!

Blackberry wine is yummy. We have a blackberry festival here every year. They grow wild EVERYWHERE here, heh. I always get a bottle of the festival wine. I should send you some this year.

blackberries are one of my favorite thigns in the WORLD. Actually, most berries are. When I make fruit salads, they consist highly of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries.

Blackberry wine is awesome and I definitely need to expand my horizon!
