What a strange, wonderful weekend! Last night in a strange twist of reality, my father and I attended a Barry Manilow concert. Yes, you read that right. Barry. Manilow. My father received free tickets from his work because they were sponsering the whole shebang, and we figured it was a once in a lifetime deal. XD So we each got two beers and a pretzel and popcorn, because we figured the concert could not be watched without alcohol in our systems. The show was very vegas-y (including women in giant headdresses walking down stairs), and was made exponentially more fantastic by Dad's very drunk coworker friend who made cynical fun of Manilow the whole time while waving her official Manilow glowstick and pouring me free beer the entire night. Bwahaha.

Today was a perfectly amazing Saturday as well. I got up to take a shower and get my allergy shot. Then I picked up Allison and we had lunch at the Boathouse in Forest Park. It was the most beautiful day in existence, upper 60s or about 70, and sunny and gorgeous. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table and the gnats were absolutey awful, but there was a fire with smoke to keep the bugs at bay a little at least, along with numerous rocking chairs out on the dock overlooking the boating lakes. We sat and rocked in the sunshine and talked and enjoyed the weather and watched people paddle boating. We ate at a table on the water's age, where the food was delicious and we each had a nice cold beer and took our time eating and drinking.
  
Then Allison and I stopped by the art museum where we spent about an hour, mostly because we wanted to see the German expressionists, and we oohed and aahed and saw wonderful things. We watched people play frisbee and voleyball and fly kites on Art Hill, which was so amazing and beautiful. Afterwards we went to get Gelato in the Central West End and now I'm home resting for a bit. A PERFECT Satruday.
